Dear Family and Friends,
Well this was by far the best week we have had here in San Jacinto! We found 9 new investigators this week and most of them are either families or couples and seem at least decently solid and interested. I think that’s put my mind at ease a little bit because one of the things that was frustrating me was that most of the people we were teaching here were people that were found by missionaries before us. So, they had really been taught everything and were all really close to baptism. They just all have different individual obstacles keeping them from it. So we hadn’t really taught the first lesson very much at all our first transfer together. We were kept pretty busy teaching lessons, but we didn’t have any investigators we were really teaching that we had found on our own. But finally, we have started teaching our own people. Don’t get me wrong, we are still working with the others, but it just feels good to get to testify about the restoration and the Book of Mormon frequently again. Not that we didn’t do it in our other lessons but, to teach it to someone for the first time is awesome.
Juarez
I think last week I told y’all about the Juarez family. Maybe not. anyway, they live right by the Humble airport and he is a flight attendant. They live pretty well off. Anyway, they are really nice. Turns out Rubi, the wife, knows one of our members who is from the Dominican Republic and they walked in to church together last week! It was awesome! They had us over for dinner the next night and they really like us a lot. Juan, the husband is so funny. He is such a people’s person. Probably because he is a flight attendant. I really like him. He is trying to hook me up with a job with American Airlines when I get home so that I can get free flights to wherever I want haha. Pretty cool I guess. Anyway they both came to church yesterday and since they are such sweet and outgoing people everyone fell in love with them and they really liked it! Even though elders quorum was a mess like usual haha Juan thought it was funny.
Cosme
Cosme… we went by and had dinner with him. Like I said he really likes us and all but he’s been having some Book of Mormon doubts, so we gave him a bunch of pro-Mormon evidences/material. We still haven’t met with him yet but we have an appointment with him and president Pomeroy from the mission presidency and he is going to blow Cosme’s mind!
Daisy
Daisy is still the same… she reads everything we leave her and comes to church and knows all the missionary lessons but she doesn’t “feel” anything. We have an appointment with her and President Crawford this week too so that will be interesting.
My District
Other than that, things are going well. It will be interesting to see what happens to elder Owens and I at the end of this transfer and who will stay and who will leave. I wonder what will happen to me with the time I have left.
Well, this last week transfers was crazy. Elder Owens and I stayed together but we got four brand new missionaries in our district and they are all white washing their areas. So that has been lots of fun for me. Yeah so every night after we are done planning I have to call four companionships… and two of them are sisters who are training. There have been some problems.. one companionship isn’t getting along already and the other got their apartment window shot at and had to move so… usually I barely get into bed on time. I feel like most of my nights I spend laying in bed with the phone by my ear saying, “yes sister…. yes sister… I know… I understand… yes sister….” haha it’s been a growing experience for sure!
well, it’s getting to that point in the email when I hit a wall and all I can think about is basketball so….

(by the way Elder Owens thought he could take me in basketball.. he’s got four inches on me and I still whooped him last week! haha he wants a rematch today so we’ll see!!!)
