Family and Friends,
The mission is legit! I love it out here! I never want to leave! I know I probably say that in every email but it’s true so what can I do? Guys, it’s the best.
Biking This Week
So this last week, our car was in the shop because Elder Campbell messed up our car so we got to spend a week with the English Elders in their house. It was a really fun week, and we got a lot of work done! In fact, numbers-wise, it was one of the best weeks we have had! And we got to bike all week which I loved, but then I realized that it is no fun being on a bike in an area as big as ours. To see “the three amigas” was a 45 minute bike ride, hauling tail! So tiring! But hurricane Isaac sure dumped a lot of rain on us this week! We were soaking wet!
The Three Amigas
Here is an investigator update: the three amigas are doing ok. Dunia, the one who has the strongest testimony, isn’t willing to move out of her boyfriends house and she doesn’t want to marry him unless he joins the church, and he hasn’t been receptive. She is coming to church and reading and everything but her baptism date just keeps sinking and sinking.
Yaneth has kept coming to church and last week she brought her boyfriend! We have been teaching him and he has accepted the date for September 22nd as well! We will be having a wedding for them before that! It’s really exciting! It’s gonna be sweet! They both are loving church.
Jamileth is going strong, she has three jobs that she is juggling but she still makes time for us and is going to drop one so she can keep coming to church and get ready for her baptism on the 15th.
I really hate the time limit on these computers!
Service
It was a good week. One cool story.. we met a lady on a street we felt impressed to knock. Alma street. She said she was raised mormon but never baptized, and that her brother was a tenured professor at BYU. She said she didn’t go to church because she didn’t like to be around people because they’re manipulative. She’s been is several abusive relationships. It’s sad because she’s a really cool lady. When we were first talking to her, she wasn’t very nice or anything and it was a little heated. But we offered to serve her and she changed just like that. Just like king Lamoni! “Why would you do that?” she asked. But we insisted. So Saturday morning we showed up to mow her lawn and get everything ready for her yard sale that she is having to keep her family alive! And now she is the English elders’ new investigator and said she would come to church! Crazy! The gospel is true! Isn’t it crazy though the difference the gospel makes? She didn’t live it and her brother did and look at the difference in lifestyle.
I love you all, hope everything is well!

Hi!
The biking is good! Carlos,I told you that you love to be in Beaumont. You are so flexible and it is a good characteristic.
I am happy because you are well. You have 1 year time for enjoying your mission work. You can help many people to get better life.
There was very nice event. in our chapel. One lady, who left the church many years ago, was been baptized. it is great!. Maybe you find members like she, that have left the church or don’t come to church.
We have a missionary from Ohio. His mother is Finnish and he has learn finnisn at home. Marko knows the mother.
I have not seen Andy. He is working in the other stake.
Carlos, I love you. Take care. I wrote a letter to you. You will get it soon.
Be happy! Vaya con Dios
