Dear Parents and Loved Ones,
Attached you will find a copy of the most recent edition of the Texas Houston East Mission “Focal Point.” Sister Crawford and I trust you will find it meaningful and that it will touch your heart with the pictures of your missionaries. We love them and we love you for your faith and support of them.
As you will read, as a mission, we have had some wonderful experiences with the “Hour of Power” in relation to finding good people to teach. We are baptizing individuals and families as a result of finding them during that time. The purpose of the Hour of Power is to unite the faith of members with ours to find people in their respective neighborhoods to teach. We believe that prayers have more power when they are specific than when general, which is why we are focusing on one hour and in one neighborhood at a time. By focusing one hour of finding with members help, we hope that as we “return and report” that they will feel the spirit and be more engaged in the work as well.
In your communications to your missionary, please ask them to share not only their experiences with the Hour of Power, but all their experiences in finding good people to teach. Ask them what they are doing to find and their experiences. Encourage them to be creative and spirit driven to find those who are looking and searching. As a mission, we need to increase our success in finding good people, especially families, to teach. Your help and encouragement will go a long way in helping us move the work forward. As always, I would ask you to join with us at 6:00 p.m. central, in a kneeling prayer and ask for miracles to take place in the neighborhood in which these great elders and sisters work.
We love them and we love you.
President and Sister Crawford
