Oscar
Earlier this week we saw Oscar again. The same one from last week. He started off by saying ” I can’t accept this book.” He said he couldn’t find Joseph Smith anywhere in the Bible. Kept saying BOM isn’t necessary, we don’t need another witness. We talked for a bit. I got a little frustrated. He wasn’t making any sense! He just listened to what everyone else, like his dad or his pastor or the internet had to say and wasn’t asking God himself. finally he said he would read and pray but I was a little flustered for the whole rest of the day. I couldn’t sleep very well at all the next night. I kept thinking about Oscar and his questions. Just one of the mission’s heartaches I guess.
Jackie is Doing Great!
We have been continuing our work with Jackie Magana. Her date is set for April 28th. She has been coming to dinner with us to member’s houses… coming to ward activities, etc. she is basically a part of the ward! We had an awesome ward party up by Lake Houston and it was a blast! We got to play soccer for a little bit and I think Jackie had a lot of fun! We have been teaching her and she is loving the lessons and church! She missed out on church last week because she was at a work conference and she said she just felt like something was missing. That was a really good sign! She said she wouldn’t miss church for anything! Her prayers are so sincere! she lets God know about her day and involves Him in a conversation. It’s just amazing.
Louis
Louis has been doing good. He is having a hard time understanding what he reads but he loves it. We’ve been doing a lot of knocking. I probably will be doing that for the next couple transfers.
Transfers
Well, transfers are coming up. Elder Sorenson is leaving, so I’m going to be left behind with an area that is huge and that I don’t know at all, and a new companion that a lot of people have had trouble with but.. hey the Lord knows what he is doing.
i’m really excited for this next transfer because when I got here there were basically no investigators and now our whole board is full!! Elder Sorenson and I have been tearing this place appart and it is going to blow the next couple transfers we just gotta get people progressing! He is really sad to be leaving because of the good work that is going to be going on here.
