Dear Family and Friends,
I don’t have much time to email today because we are short for time. We are somewhere else than the college we usually email at because it is Spring Break.
Just wanted to let y’all know that I am doing dandy. We are still working hard every day. I won’t be a liar though, this is a pretty rough area. It’s just hard to find Hispanic people to teach. Every one we see is African – American and the few Hispanics we tract into are not interested. We keep trying but day after day is just filled with rejection and dropped appointments. We have almost no investigators right now. The few that we have just aren’t keeping committments and even our less actives and recent converts here are really wishy washy.
BUT. Last saturday we went and visited an old investigator and ran into his sister who let us in and we had a really good lesson about the Restoration with her. We left her with a Book of Mormon and she seemed really interested. She said she was willing to give it a shot! She came to church the next day and she seemed to really like it. She is our best investigator right now and she seems legit! and I don’t say that about everyone. We are really excited to keep teaching her and helping her progress. Her name is Jackie and she is in her early 20’s. She asked the perfect questions and she really has a good understanding which is a lot better than many of the people we talk to and she has a REAL desire which is just about all you can ask for.
But, aqui andamos trabajando nada mas.. which is Mexi-Spanish for we are just working here.. doing all we can to find new people. Pray for us. We know that with faith we will see miracles in this area.
