Dear Parents and Loved Ones,
Attached is a copy of the February Focal Point for the Texas Houston East Mission. We continue to be thankful and amazed at the strong work of the missionaries serving in this mission. They are working hard to master their responsibilities as missionaries and we are so impressed with their goodness and desire.
It is interesting to watch the process of missionaries leaving the mission after the completion of their twenty four or eighteen months of service. They come to us so young and bright eyed and nervous and they leave so experienced, knowledgeable and confident. It is a wonderful process to witness. Over the past two months we have become a much younger mission as we have seen a large number of experienced missionaries leave. The flow in and out is not always consistent month to month and the periods in which we have a higher than average number of returning missionaries is a bit challenging. While that has been the case over the past few months, it has been a delight to see the younger missionaries step up and ably fill in for those who have returned home and to show the new elders and sisters how to become missionaries while they are in fact still learning themselves. That cycle of constant change is part of the miracle of the mission. It can prematurely age a mission president, but it is remarkable to see the growth and development of these great missionaries. You can be humbly proud of your sons and daughters.
We love presiding over and serving with the missionaries of The Texas Houston East Mission. We love them, we pray for them and we admire them. We love you for your continued sacrifice of resources and being away from them for the time of their call to serve.
We give you our love appreciation and gratitude.
